Location: ODI 4 Millbank London SW1P 3LL

Date: 16th October 2025
Time: 10 – 11:30
Location: ODI Global, 4 Millbank, London, SW1P 3LL

With COP30 approaching, this event will dissect how the research community, media and civil society communicate the challenge of climate change and continue to work towards low-carbon, climate-resilient development.

We will be asking:

  • Does the media need to shift its approach to communicating climate change?
  • How does civil society continue to advocate for change? Is traditional media still a player?
  • How does COP adapt to the absence of one of the world’s largest emitters?

Our panel will consist of:

  • Sarah Colenbrander, director climate and sustainability programme, ODI Global
  • Patrick Greenfield biodiversity and environment reporter, The Guardian
  • Nicky Hawkins, consultant, Climate Outreach
  • Matt McGrath environment correspondent, BBC News
  • Laura Paddison, senior climate reporter, CNN
  • Adam Vaughan environment editor, The Times
